Classroom Standardization Project
Extra Large Project, 1000+ Resource Hours
Budget: $8M Actual: $7.9M
Timeline: Began March of 2021
Completed February of 2022
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CSU Sacramento secured an $8 million grant to expand hybrid and remote learning capabilities across campus instructional spaces. As the dedicated Project Manager, I oversaw the allocation and successful deployment of over $7.9 million to modernize 480 instructional classrooms with new instructional technologies supporting in-person, hybrid, and remote learning. Coordinated collaboration among 13 campus departments and three external vendors while maintaining project timelines, budget compliance, stakeholder transparency and operational continuity. Managed campus-wide communications and scheduling coordination to align installations with departmental needs and instructional calendars. The initiative significantly expanded instructional technology capacity and continues to support tens of thousands of students each year.

University Print Project
Extra Large Project, 600+ Resource Hours
Budget: $1.3m
Completed 2022
The campus lease contract with Xerox was expiring, posing a risk to hundreds of printing devices and many departments on campus. Initiating this project before the lease's end allowed for the implementation of a new, economically and sustainably-minded lease contract. This project successfully transitioned campus to a new University multifunction device program, supporting over 150 departments and Printsmart, the sole student printing resource. By securing a lower-cost lease, providing device recommendations, and facilitating departmental orders, costs were reduced while enhancing sustainability. Effective communication and coordination with departments ensured smooth device ordering, installation, and operation.

Video Management Software Transition
Extra Large Project, 400+ Resource Hours
Campus Security Imperative Project
Activated: 2024, Completed: 2025
Led a high-priority enterprise security technology transition replacing the university’s video management platform from Milestone to Genetec for the campus-wide security camera system. Directed the initial investigation, platform evaluation, and strategic planning to determine system requirements, scalability, and operational impact. Oversaw all phases of the project including requirements analysis, system architecture design, server and software procurement, configuration, device and data migration, testing, and deployment while maintaining strict budget controls and uninterrupted operation of critical public safety systems.
Coordinated internal technical staff, external vendors, and multiple campus stakeholders to resolve infrastructure dependencies and minimize service disruption. Designed system configurations, custom dashboards, and role-based access structures to support operational needs across dispatch, police personnel, and administrative users, and developed training for multiple user groups. The project resulted in a fully migrated enterprise video management environment supporting campus safety operations and long-term system scalability.
License Plate Readers Implementation
Large Project, 200+ Resource Hours
Campus Security Imperative Project
Activated: 2024 Completed: 2025
Led the investigation, planning, and implementation of a campus-wide automated license plate recognition (ALPR) system, including both wireless and hardwired deployments, to enhance public safety and investigative capabilities. Directed vendor coordination, system design, procurement, and installation while maintaining strict budget controls and aligning deployment with departmental operational priorities.

Collaborated with local law enforcement agencies, city and county partners, and permitting authorities to secure approvals for the use of public infrastructure and strategically determine installation locations covering key campus ingress and egress routes. Coordinated system integration with statewide and national law enforcement information networks through the California Department of Justice to support investigative interoperability.

Oversaw system configuration, update management, and long-term lifecycle planning while developing role-based training for personnel to support operational monitoring, investigative analysis, and administrative system management.

Tschannen Science Complex Security Project
Medium Project, 200+ Resource Hours
Campus Security Imperative Project
Completed 2019

Developed a comprehensive surveillance and emergency phone deployment plan for a newly constructed $13 million campus facility. Utilized construction drawings to design system coverage and infrastructure requirements, coordinating with project stakeholders, faculty and vendors. Following infrastructure installation, oversaw physical deployment of devices and verified all systems functionality to ensure reliable operation and alignment with campus safety and operational standards.
Clery CSA Management Project
Medium Project, 150+ Resource Hours
Security and Compliance Imperative Project
Activated: 4-2021, Completed: 11-2021
Managed a project supporting the university’s compliance with the Clery Act, which requires institutions to publicly report crime data and provide victim support resources to the community. Coordinated technical teams to design and implement a Campus Security Authority (CSA) tracking system within CMS, including a communication platform for direct engagement with CSA personnel, record-keeping processes meeting seven-year retention requirements, and workflows for managing and deactivating inactive CSA records. Oversaw development of batch upload capabilities for CSA lists and creation of knowledge-base documentation to support ongoing system use. The project required continuous collaboration with technical teams, campus stakeholders, and legal representatives to ensure the solution aligned with evolving regulatory requirements and institutional needs.

Utaps parking Occupancy Project
Medium Project, 200+ Resource Hours
Expedited Project - Current Systems End of Life
Completed 2022
Led a project with University Transportation and Parking Services (UTAPS) to evaluate and modernize parking garage occupancy counting systems that had become obsolete or ineffective. Conducted research to identify cost-effective technology solutions aligned with operational needs. Coordinated procurement, contracts, and licensing with external vendors while managing installation activities involving both vendor and internal technical teams. Developed installation guidance based on optimal equipment placement and safety considerations. Oversaw integration of system data with the university’s online campus map to provide real-time parking availability information for students, faculty, and staff.
Repeater Project
Extra Large Project, 300+ Resource Hours
Campus Safety Project
Activated: 2023 Completed: 2025
Served as the project sponsor and supervisory lead for the modernization of the Sacramento State Police Department’s radio communication infrastructure, overseeing replacement of a more than 20-year-old end of life repeater system that serves as the primary communication link between dispatch, officers in the field, and mutual aid agencies including local law enforcement, fire, and rescue units.
Assigned primary technical responsibilities to staff while maintaining oversight of project scope, escalation management, stakeholder coordination, and key decision points throughout the project lifecycle. Participated in planning discussions and scope development while providing leadership support and intervention when operational or technical issues required escalation.
The project included deployment of a Motorola GTR8000 repeater, antenna upgrades from 3 dB to 10 dB, and securing FCC authorization to increase transmission power from 50 watts to 100 watts, significantly improving radio coverage and reliability across campus and surrounding areas. The upgraded system supports P25 digital communications, encryption capabilities, and future radio infrastructure expansion while bringing the radio vault and related systems into alignment with applicable public safety and regulatory standards.
